Questions clients ask before ordering
What is mandatory on a food label in Saudi Arabia?
The SFDA technical regulation SFDA.FD/GSO 9 for labelling of prepackaged foods, with GSO 2233 for nutrition labelling and SFDA.FD 2333 for claims, per the SFDA; Arabic is mandatory. We check your label against these before printing.
Can the label be English only?
No, Arabic is mandatory on food labels; other languages may be added alongside.
Which label material suits chilled products?
BOPP or PE with a cold- and moisture-tolerant adhesive, laminated gloss or matte for scuff protection.
Do you print oil-resistant labels?
Yes, for tahini and oil pails we use plastic stocks with strong adhesive and a protective laminate, as in our portfolio.
What is the minimum for printed cups and boxes?
It depends on the print method; paper cups usually from 1,000 cups and folding cartons from about 500 boxes. We confirm per size.
Do you help with the nutrition table?
We lay it out in the required format; the SFDA offers a free food-label calculator on its site, and the values remain the producer's or laboratory's responsibility.
How long does label printing take?
Production starts after proof approval and takes longer for foil and embossing; we confirm the timeline in the quote.
Do you make die-cut tooling for boxes?
Yes, we design the die-line and prepare the die; the tooling is a one-time cost.
Paper or BOPP labels?
Paper is cheaper and suits dry goods; BOPP is water- and tear-resistant and suits beverages and chilled items.
Do you print barcodes correctly?
Yes, with adequate quiet zones and contrast, and we scan-test before production.
