What it is and who it is for
Which option suits your site and Jeddah's climate
| Type | Best for | Lifespan and Jeddah climate | Lighting and finish |
|---|---|---|---|
| Printed metal or wood panels on galvanised posts with concrete bases | Commercial streets wider than 40 m, where artwork and lighting are mandatory | Direct UV print or laminated vinyl that holds up to sun and dust for the permit period | LED floodlights on earthed circuits |
| White corrugated aluminium (hangar sheet) with 15 cm slat spacing | Commercial streets 40 m or narrower and residential streets | Rust-free, needs firm fixing against wind | Optional |
| Aluminium composite panels printed with the project identity | Sales frontages and project entrances that get photographed | A flat face gives the best print quality and wipes clean of dust | LED floodlights |
| Project information board and reflective warning signs | Every site, readable from a vehicle | Plastic or metal board with UV-resistant print | Reflective |

Questions clients ask before ordering
How high must a construction hoarding be?
Commercial streets wider than 40 m: 2 to 7 m; commercial streets 40 m or narrower: 2 to 3 m; residential streets: at least 1.5 m, per the ministry's construction-site fencing guide (1444H).
Which materials are allowed and banned?
Allowed: weather-resistant wood or metal panels, and white corrugated aluminium on narrower and residential streets. Banned: concrete barriers, metal mesh and fabric screens.
Is printed artwork on the hoarding mandatory?
On commercial streets wider than 40 m the hoarding must be fully covered with high-quality project artwork and lit at night. On narrower and residential streets artwork is optional.
Can the hoarding carry advertising?
Artwork is limited to the project's own identity; unrelated slogans and individuals' names or photos are not allowed, and third-party advertising is banned outright on residential streets.
What information must be shown on the hoarding?
A plastic or metal board with the site contact, the building licence number and the contractor's details including its CR number, readable from a vehicle. It can be integrated into the graphic design.
How long for 100 m of printed hoarding?
It depends on the length, the street width and the lighting; we confirm the timeline in the proposal. We phase installation so excavation starts on time.
Do you need a drawing from the consultant?
On streets wider than 40 m the hoarding plan, equipment route and artwork sketch are attached to the building drawings before the licence, and the artwork can be changed later through the supervising consultant. We prepare that sheet for the consultant.
Who is responsible for maintaining the hoarding?
The guide places full responsibility on the building contractor for the hoarding, its maintenance and any damage. We offer a maintenance contract with monthly visits and panel replacement.
What are the gate and walkway requirements?
One front gate at least 3 m wide opening inward or sliding, with no locks that hinder civil defence, and a temporary pedestrian path at least 1.2 m wide with barriers and ramps for accessibility.
When is the hoarding removed?
After the facade finishing and the external sidewalk are complete; if the building licence expires before completion, the hoarding must be moved back to the property line and the sidewalk restored.
